Dee River Kayaking becomes Paddle the Dee

It was time for a change. Dee River Kayaking has a brand-new name: Paddle the Dee! . The new name represents our hope to be attractive to all paddlesports enthusiasts—whether they are trying stand up paddleboarding for the first time, considering taking up whitewater kayaking, or heading out for the Hen Do of the century, we're eager that all of our users feel equal in our care.

Although we started as a kayaking only tour business, this hasn't been the case for a long time. Ever since year 2 we’ve offered Stand Up Paddleboarding alongside kayaking, but the name has held us back. We love our SUPs and we love coaching SUP paddlers to help them gain confidence and skills to take full advantage of their adventurous capability. This rebrand makes it clear: we’re here for all paddlers. Along with our new name, we’ve updated our guided tours and tuition packages to better reflect what we do and how we do it in a more streamlined way.

We aim for our guided tours as accessible and engaging as possible for everyone who might want to join, with options for families, private groups, and touring visitors to Chester and Llangollen. With plenty of trip options depending on your experience and how much adrenaline you're seeking out, we hope everyone can find their perfect adventure in our listings. 

A one-off adventure is great, but we also really care about helping those who really want to become a paddler find access to quality instruction. Our lessons are designed to help beginners and experienced paddlers take their skills to the next level and paddle confidently, safely, and independently. Watch this space, as we will shortly have another exciting announcement for learner paddlers who are keen to progress over the long term!

To complement our new identity, we’ve also launched a refreshed website. The new site, www.paddlethedee.com, makes it easier than ever to explore our range of experiences and learn more about paddlesports on the River Dee. We have also improved our booking system to make scheduling a session or lesson as simple as possible.

As one further reason for this change, our new brand identity will align far more closely with Paddle365. Paddle365 is our sister company, through which we develop whitewater kayakers at every level of skill and ambition. It has always been our hope that these two business brands would work well in tandem, and this move will further the relationship. Paddle The Dee is there to get you hooked, and while Paddle365 will make a life long paddler of you.
